Did you know that 60-80% of the adult population have gum disease? And that close to 50% have a severe form, called periodontitis (a condition that dissolves the bone in your jaw and gums)?
At The Dental Place, we have a very strong focus on the link between oral health and general health.
Certain conditions can increase your risk to gum disease and there is a body of research to show that gum disease is linked to increasing the chances of chronic conditions in the body.
This is exactly why we have a dental hygienist on our team and why it is so important to see an oral health professional regularly (usually at a minimum every 6 months) to try and keep infection managed and prevent it’s spread.
At each visit our hygienist treats and manages infection present in your gums and spends time with you developing a personalised home-care regime

Free Children’s Dentistry
Did you know that children between the ages of 0 and 17 may be eligible for free dental care? Through the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), they can have up to $1026 in services every two years. Your family must receive a government benefit such as the Family Tax Benefit Part A for your child to be eligible. We are an accredited practice

Unlike our public sector colleagues who must be accredited, private practices are not required to undergo the same procedure.
